2 Timothy 3:15
"and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
Bible Reading for a Year: Psalms 57; Mark 7; 2 Kings 17
Courageous the movie is about how a father affects both the positive and the negative aspect of children in a family. The story began from a friendship of five fathers from different background and family lifestyle. Four of them were police officers, and the fifth one was the funny part of this film. The interactions between those families were relevant with today’s culture. The lack of family time, the struggle to be free from bitterness, and many more were their obstacles to be the fathers they were supposed to be.
Then these five men decided to make “resolutions”—they would try hard to be a father and a husband according to the Bible. A father tried not only to teach his children about the Kingdom of God’s values, but also give them examples. Through this resolution of faith, they were tested to keep promise of their commitments unto the Lord.
Besides the mothers, fathers are role models to his children, whether they realize it or not. A girl spending much time with her loving father grows with understanding of how she deserves honor from boys, and what she would seek in a husband. Fathers can teach their sons what matters in this life by demonstrating honesty, humility, and responsibility.
The families on the face of the earth are designed by God himself. He took the initiative to create families on the face of the earth. Unless the Lord builds a family, the work of the builders is useless. God has set every father to be a priest. May all fathers be aware of it. You can learn more about it.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
