Every day Dina (not real name) grieves because she has not yet received the fulfillment of God’s promise. God says He will give her a future filled with hope. But what has she got? Her father was sick, her parents almost got divorced, her salary and position remained though she has been working for years, and she has not found yet the life partner.
Dina knew that she should give thanks despite the troubles, but her problems seemed so heavy. One day, she found Psalm 64. A verse written there: “Be glad, good people! Fly to God! God-hearted people, make praise your habit.” (MSG)
At that moment Dina learned that she hasn’t yet made praising God as her habit. “Make praise your habit!” the Bible says. That is what we should do. Each of us knows David’s struggle; he was the author of the psalm. He has pretended to be crazy so that he wouldn’t be arrested because his enemies tried to catch him. His son has plotted evil against him; he was chased by Saul and was mocked.
Then he made praising God his habit. That’s why David wrote the most of the psalms. When he was sad, he praised. When God has given him victories, he praised Him very beautifully.
It is never too late. Praise God whom you worship in any circumstance you are right now. Having a habit of praise leads us to live in joyful. So, have you praised God today?
Make praising God our habit from now on, in any circumstance. There is joy in praising Him.
