Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, And the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!

This psalm of praise shows how the Lord is God of mercy (Hebrew: hesed) and truth (Hebrew: emet). And this Psalm is addressed to all the nations in the world. It is based on the love and truth of God as His divine character. God's mercy has made Israelites as the chosen people, by redeeming their ancestors. That very same love also makes God binds himself to the people through the covenant in Sinai. The bond of grace is evidence that no matter how Israel has rebelled and how hard God has beaten them, in the end He will save them.
Truth is the God’s character. There is no real truth outside of God. Israel learned to worship none but Him only. Truth and faithfulness are two things that are mutually bound. So God, the source of truth, cannot deny Himself, neither His promises for many people.
At the same time, the Israelites who has received the gift of salvation through God’s mercy and truth, should realized that they were chosen to bring the message of salvation to the Gentiles. This psalm was echoed not only to Israel, but all nations.
In Paul's letter to the Romans, similar psalms were written, that safety is also the right of nations outside of Israel ([bible]Roman15:11[/bible]). Therefore, the people of Israel should realize their duty in proclaiming the good news for other nations. Similarly, God is using the churches to fulfill His word so that all nations and peoples know Him.
God is one, and in all His Oneness. H is
just and faithful to all nations and tribes.
