Forrest Gump movie
deserved 13 nominations of Academy Awards in its time as tells the journey of
life inspired by a boy with foot disorders and mental retardation. As a child, there
were many children who do not want to be friends with Forrest because he was
different. His mother fought for his son so his surroundings would accept him.
From his mother, Forrest learned about life, including the existence of God.
In spite of his
limitations, Forrest has experienced miracle in his life. One time, when his
friends mocked him, Forrest ran very quickly. Apparently it made his feet
healed from disorders. That miracle was followed by another. “Miracle happens
every day!” This simple saying by Forrest equals to “God never sleeps!” Yes,
miracles do always come and God always has a way to prove it.
From a child with
mental disorder, now Forrest was used by God to be a famous football player,
Vietnam War’s superhero, and the winner of table tennis championship. His
limitations finally were used for greater purpose.
This film teaches
us three things: we should never give up and curse the weaknesses God allows in
our life; we should live in God’s plan with hope. And the last is, keep
spreading love to other people by being friends and caring each other.
Hebrews 13:6 says, "The
LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Yes, God never
sleeps. He is always on the righteous and those who put their trust in Him.
