He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.
And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

The Holy Spirit speaks wonderfully to David. In Psalms 40:2-3, David explains the purpose of God's coming into the world.
It is written in verse 2 that, "He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay..." This verse in Hebrew means: being out of the noisy pit; out of horrible experience; out of gloomy, terrible, and deadly place.
Yes. Life is full of deaths. Every experience opposing God's plan is an experience of death. The bitterness, shame, sadness, hatred, greed, loneliness, and so on.
That's what Jesus must suffer at the cross. He knows exactly such parts for He has experienced all of them. At last, death brought Him away--and brought us, too--into the end of life; the dark and horrible pit.
But David says, "He (Jesus) brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps." This is a beautiful description of resurrection.
None of us has been resurrected from the death, including Lazarus. The resurrection of Lazarus and Jesus is way different.
As Lazarus was brought back to his life, then Jesus was resurrected from His death. He is the firstfruit of all the dead. He entered the new experience God has designed since the beginning.
That depicts the meaning of David's new song in Psalm 40:3, "And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."
A new song is a new experience. When God does something big for you, surely you won't stay and sit back reading a poem or writing paragraph or recipe.
Surely you will sing, create a new song that expresses your feeling. And David made a new song to celebrate new life, the resurrection of life.
David clearly states that the impact of life's resurrection is many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Yes, the resurrection of Jesus is a history that shakes the world!
Lord, You have power to change death into life. Thank you because through Your resurrection, You gave me a new life.
