1 Corinthians 10:13
God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able.
Surely you have seen load-limit signs on cars, highways, bridges, or elevators. Engineers know that too much strain can cause severe damage or complete collapse. Thus, they determine the exact amount of stress that various materials can safely endure. According to the research, there are posted warnings telling us not to exceed the maximum load.
And so it is with human beings; some people, for example can bear the pressure of trial and temptation better than others, but each of them has his/her own load limits. At times, circumstances and people seem to be pushing us beyond what we can bear. But the Lord knows our limitations and never allows any difficulties to enter our lives that exceed our strength and ability to endure. The verse above reminds us that God is faithful and will not allow His people to be tempted beyond what they are able.
We can hold on to this truth. As the follower of Christ, we are asked to not only talk, but also practice what we talk; we are asked to be living witnesses of truth. Therefore, when trials and temptations press down on you, take courage. Put your trust not in your own strength but in God’s power.
Those who hold tight to God will be able to go through adversities. They can even say, “I would not know what I should have done without God.” This means they know that Father is always with them to strengthen, guard, and protect them.
In tough times, God teaches us to believe.
