Tell me about your work experience? That is a typical job interview question when someone applies a position in a company. His ability is usually measured by the previous work experiences. Also, the adults are more likely to have more experiences than the youth. Does this situation happen in ministry too?

David was once despised when he was in the battlefield. He was a shepherd, so young, and had no war experience (vv. 28, 33). David was considered incapable in the battle. He was youth and not the right opponent against Goliath. How could he be bold when the well-trained warriors themselves were afraid of Goliath (v.24)? However, David was convinced that his experience shepherding the sheep should suffice in fighting against Goliath (vv. 34-36). His shepherding experience has let him know the power of God that evoking his boldness. That’s it. He did not fight with blind boldness, but with certainty that God would defend His chosen people (v. 36).

Do you think you are young and have lack of experience? Do not be afraid to take part in ministry. Experience does matter, but sometimes it does not enough. If God has called us to serve Him, He himself will equip us. God can use everyone who wants to depend on His power. He will enable him/her to fulfill His mission. –YBP

While the circumstances surround you evoke fear, God’s presence evokes boldness from the inside.
