Mark 9:50

"Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another."

Bible Reading for a Year [bible]psalm2[/bible]; [bible]matth2[/bible]; [bible]iking19-20[/bible]

Salt is very useful for cooking. There is a saying “love without you is like eating food without salt.” That means, delicious food requires salt; we can taste love as the one we love is beside us.

We are also compared to salt of the earth—the world is salted with us. Here, to salt means to give impact or show our identity to the whole world so we are known as the disciples of Christ. Which disciples are we? Of course, we are the disciples who live according to the Teacher. Jesus is the Teacher Himself; He is full of mercy for all of the people. And so are we.

However, the Bible says that the salt in ourselves can lose its flavor. If so, how well we season it? The tasteless salt is not useful.

The Bible suggests us to always have the salt in ourselves. We should always salt this world so that we can be blessing for others. It will affect not only others, but also ourselves.

Have peace with one another. Troubles, problems, and conflicts may happen. But one thing we need to do is live in peace with each other. Thus, love will flow and people can see Jesus in us.

The salt in yourselves is not useful when it loses its flavor. The tasteless salt will be thrown out and trample on by people. In order to let the people see how ‘salty’ you are, they need to see what you have. Let them see the love of Jesus, and then you will give big impact for them.
