1 Thessalonians 2:2

We had previously suffered and been treated outrageously in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in the face of strong opposition.

One of the most glorious things from Apostle Paul was his bravery in paying a price. For the sake of people who have believed and been saved, Apostle Paul had to pay with trials, tribulations, suffering, and persecution.

Apostle Paul was willing to do anything and even dare to die for the Gospel, because for him, “to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). That was Paul’s life purpose. “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,” (Philippians 3:10).

Dying for the Gospel’s sake is like a seed planted on the field—in its time, it will grow and produce much grain, because if the seed does not die, it will not grow and bear much fruit (John 12:24). Lord Jesus has formerly given examples: being willing to sacrifice His life to redeem mankind’s lives. How about us? In order to be used by God, there’s price we have to pay.
