Mark 16:15
And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
This week we are celebrating the ascension of Jesus Christ, 40 days after His resurrection. As written in the gospel of Mark, before He ascended into heaven, Jesus gave command to His disciples, asked them to preach the gospel to every creature.
Jesus clearly imparted power and command to His disciples to do the task. He ensured that whoever hears, believes, and is baptized will be saved (Mark 16:15-16)
Then why does Jesus leave the task or the message for His disciples? Is the message relevant to our lives nowadays? We are called to have a hopeful life, to wait for His second coming, and to do the command faithfully. He promised to return to the earth at the right time, not as a Son of Man, but as a judge.
Jesus’ last message becomes our reminder that His second coming is certain.
