Luke 6:45

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil.

The good tree must produce the good fruits. As the tree is damaged, it also produces lower quality of fruits, or even fails to produce the fruits. And so it is with the words one speaks—it is produced by heart.

You should consider who gives you advice. Is he spiritually mature and wise, or do his words merely support others’ opinion?

Secondly, a good advice will not contradict the Bible. Good ideas are not always God ideas. Good ideas do not always match the Bible. Before you follow someone’s advice, test whether it matches the word of God.

Because the bad influence is much easier to be accepted than the good one. So, be wise accepting every advice from other people.

 

For every tree is known from its fruits. For people do not harvest figs and grapes from thorns.
