Mark 16:18

They will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Bible Reading for a Year [bible]psalm122[/bible]; [bible]icori11[/bible]; [bible]isamu10-11[/bible]

In the scripture above, Jesus made controversial statement: they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them. Some people misunderstand the scripture, and a priest even holds a service by participating serpents.

The point of what Jesus said is how perfect God’s guard is in believers’ life, even death cannot touch us without God’s consent. For instance; when Paul was shipwrecked and bitten by a serpent. The passengers of the ship thought Paul would be dead, but Paul shook off the serpent inyo the fire and the Bible said he suffered no harm.

It confirms what the prophet of Isaiah has written: “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them.” That means God gives a perfect guard in our life; so if there’s any bad intention for us, it will not work. So, stop worrying about our life or even death, because nothing will happen without God’s consent. Focus on living life for glorifying and pleasing God.

God’s plan in our life is plan of peace, to give us a future and a hope. Even the bad circumstances cannot change God’s plan.
