From following the ewes that had young He brought him, to shepherd Jacob His people, and Israel His inheritance.

While the Indonesia election approaches, many public figures come up and claim themselves as the next leaders, yet many of them are doubted. No matter how long they have led, we doubt them if they could not change this nation.
And so it is with Israelites who doubted David’s reign, even though David was chosen by God to lead Israel. Besides short, he was so young, and he was just a shepherd with a flock of sheep.
However, God chose David! God took David from the flock of sheep to lead Israelites, His chosen people. God chose a sincere shepherd which was very skillful in shepherding the sheep. As a shepherd, David was not terrified to strike the wild animals that tried to carry off his sheep. David tried to care for his sheep so that no one would be lost (1 Samuel 17:34-35). And God credited it. David was considered able to rule because his sincerity in doing his job.
Do you think that your ability and experience are not enough to do God’s work, compares to others? When the doubt comes, believe that God has been and is working through your experience, talent, and life. As long as you have sincerity and determination to be used by Him, God will enable you to do His works in the world.
Doubt kills faith, but total trust to the Lord lets your faith remain.
