"For so
the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you
should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’"

A Mercedes
Benz commercial shows two cars colliding into a cement wall during a safety
test. Someone asks the company spokesman why they don't protect their patent on
the Mercedes' energy-absorbing car body. The spokesman replies, "Because
some things in life are too important not to share."
Yes,
Mercedes Benz seems so understand that the safety of life is so important that
they need to share to as many people as possible. This is what Jesus wants to
do: as we have received salvation in Jesus, both in this world and in eternal
life, we should not keep it nor trade it. We need to share it freely to every
people we know and meet.
When the
early churches received this commandment, they found it hard to do. They were persecuted;
they had no communication devices, internet, or plane. But they decided to obey
and go to the ends of the earth sharing gospel in Jesus.
Today we
live in a very different world, but the Great Commandment remains. We have been
armed with everything we need to complete the task. But the decision is ours,
whether we will share the good news, or stop working out our salvation. Though
we may not do the calling, other people would. However, we would lose the
blessings by not being the messenger.
Because some things in life are too
important not to share.
