Jeremiah 33:3
Yes, I have
loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn
you.

Many people
find it difficult to believe that God is love. Some of my Christian friends
even doubt it. “Why would a loving God allow suffering and evil in the world?”
Admittedly, it is not easy to answer such question. But if you really want to
know the reality of God’s love, you should look to the cross.
Divine love
makes Christ bear the cross and be deeply ashamed. It is love that keeps Him
from being angry when He was accused of committing blasphemy and was brought to
Golgotha and was killed along with the criminals. He did not answer back His
enemies. It is love that keeps Him from asking His father for thousands of
angels to protect Himself.
It is love
that makes Him silent while He put hope for a repenting sinner saying, "Lord,
remember me when You come into Your kingdom." (Luke 23:42)
It is love
that makes Jesus shouted and prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not
know what they do.” (Luke 23:34) Does God love us? Yes, He does. His love is
proven at the cross.
The cross is the most real proof that
God loves you so much.
