II Kings 5:2-3
And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife. Then she said to her mistress, "If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy."

Once upon a time, a young Jewish girl convinced her master, a non-believer named Naaman. She asked Naaman, a leper, to seek Elijah, the man of God, who was famous for performing miracles of healing. She was only a maid who waited on Naaman’s wife. As he got the advice, Naaman went and seek Elijah so that he would be healed.
Nehemiah and Ester’s experience were quite similar to Naaman’s. They were both Jewish. Nehemiah loved his nation so much that he couldn’t bear to witness the downfall of Jerusalem, his homeland. As a cupbearer, he asked the king to let him rebuild the city. The king granted his requests and sent him to Jerusalem because he trusted Nehemiah, whom served not only as a cupbearer but also the king’s counselor. He had an influence.
A cupbearer is responsible for what the king drinks. He usually tastes the king’s drink to protect him from being poisoned. If the drink contains poison, then his job and life are at stake. He could lose his life for making the request, yet Nehemiah did his best behind the scene.
The Jewish maid of Naaman’s wife, Nehemiah, and Ester are used by God in their own position to influence great people at that time. They are used to show the truth behind the scene—their actions might seem simple but actually they matter a lot.
Remember that God always uses those who believe and close to Him to be vessels of blessing. He also puts His representatives behind the scene to let His will be done. Do you want to be used by Him today?
God puts everyone for special purpose—telling the non-believers the truth, through knowledge and life example.
