A song titled ‘Tears in Heaven’ by Eric Clapton is written by himself to express his grief after the loss of his 4-year-old son, Conor Clapton. Conor fell from a window of a 53rd-floor New York apartment building. Eric Clapton’s grief was expressed in the song.
‘Would you know my name, if I saw you in heaven?’ is a part of the song. He imagined how little Conor could remember beautiful moments they have gone through together.
Like Eric, can we imagine what if tomorrow never comes? What if we would not know everyone we love in heaven? We may have done anything for those we love. But we don’t realize that there are so many people surround us whom we haven’t served and loved. Imagine that tomorrow never comes and the opportunity never knocks again. Therefore, today must be the only opportunity we have to laugh with, talk to, and cry with those we love.
James 4:14 reminds us that life is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Use every opportunity to serve and love others while you are with them. Imagine that today is your last day, and spend it to bless others—care for them, smile at them, and help them.
While there is still time, love and serve others, for we never know what tomorrow holds.
