Romans 14:12

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God

Bible Reading for A Year:[bible]Psalm104[/bible];[bible]James1[/bible];[bible]Ezeki13-14[/bible]

Many people spend time in their lives to create a legacy on earth. They want to be remembered when they are gone. But what is important here is not what other people have to say about our lives, but what God says.

What many people fail to understand is all achievements and records will be exceeded one day, the reputation will be faded away and praise will be forgotten. A story of James Dobson illustrates those things. His main goal while he was being in high school is being a champion of tennis competition at school. He was very proud when the cup was placed in the school trophy cabinet. Years later, someone sent that trophy to him. They found that trophy was in the trash, while that school was under renovation. James said, “In time, all of your trophies will be thrown away by other people!”

Living by leaving worldly life behind is a very shallow goal. It would be wiser to use our time to build an eternal legacy since our existence on this earth is not to be remembered. We are here to prepare ourselves to face the eternity.

One day, we will stand before God and He will examine our lives. He will ask us whether we receive the grand prize that He already given to us, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Then, He will ask, what do we do with all the talents, gifts, opportunities and all resources that He has given to us? Are we ready to answer that question?

Everything in this world is temporary and it will be vanished. Let's focus our lives to the eternity.
