The residents of Falmouth, Kentucky, faced a very tough decision in early 1997. Licking River, was a river near their residence, assaulted by the flood. Water has risen as high as 30 cm / hour, and local officials urged residents to evacuate. Most residents chose to leave, but others-either because of fear of robbers or underestimate the ferocity of flood-they refused to go.
We can understand why they find it hard to leave. Each of us has a property or a place that we want to protect and do not want to let go of.
In Philippians 1, Paul spoke about himself who faced uncertainties on two things, "I'm torn between the two" (verse 23). He wanted to get along with His Savior in heaven, but he also knew that God had given him the task to be carried out on earth. He faced two choices which were equally difficult: the longing to be with Christ and the call to serve others.
If you believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, you will understand the dilemma of Paul. You look forward to the moment with Jesus, but even then you realize that God has a plan for you to stay on earth which is fraught with difficulties.
Keep staying or leaving? Times for you to leave this world are determined by God, and therefore use this life as good as possible while you are still on this earth. Give your every single days to Jesus Christ. Stay alive for Him and save everyone else.
