“But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their deal.”
Bible Reading for a year: Psalm 150; Revelation 6; Esther 5-6
Jesus seems mean when one of His disciples wanted to bury his dead father but was not allowed by Jesus, as if He didn’t has any compassion for those who want to dedicate their selves to their parents. Before it happened, Jesus have also rejected someone who wanted to follow Him, however that man has already prepared himself to follow Him to whereever He went.
So, what did He want actually? Maybe that thinking has been crossed over on our mind when we are reading this verses. I’m really sure that He had purposes that we could not understand. However, we always believe that He always gives the best, don’t we? We know that He knows each of us well.
Dedicating our selves to our parents when they died isn’t useful anymore. So, when they are still being with us, be obey to them! They are the people who has birth and raised us, but still to commit God in the highest place in our lives whatever it takes.
When we are ready enough to leave everything for Him, try to investigate our heart then. Are we really ready enough? Are our hearts really rely on Him and follow Him to whereever He steps, what are those risks? Please, investigate our deepest heart before we have a serious comitment to Him.
In following Jesus, when we are living in this world, please do two ultimate laws that He gave to us. Loving God by all your heart and loving your brothers as your self. Do not flip on it and do it!
I believe that He has purposes on it that we can not understand. But we always believe that He always gives the best, don’t we?
