John
4:41-42
And many more believed
because of His own word. Then they said to the woman, "Now we believe, not
because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this
is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world."

When someone applies for a
job, he must meet the criteria or requirements given by the company. When
someone needs a loan, the bank gives him terms and conditions before applying.
All of the process is to make sure that the man deserves the job and the loan.
In this life, some
requirements are needed to access a service or gain a position. And they are
needed in being Christ’s disciple as well. There is a requirement to be His
disciple: you and I have to believe in Jesus Christ.
Is that’s all? Yes. It’s
so simple, isn’t it? It is experienced by the Samaritan woman in John 4:7-42.
According to her society, she was not allowed to be a disciple due to her bad
reputation and immorality. However, since she trusted Jesus as Messiah, she was
admitted as Christ’s disciple.
In a very short time, the
Samaritan woman, who used to be excluded, now became the preacher. She entered
her city and told people about Jesus, and many people were won because of her.
No matter how bad your
past is, no matter how bad your circumstances right now, you can be Christ’s
disciple. The first step is to let Jesus become your God and your Savior. Let
Him renew and relieve your life, and do what the Samaritan woman has done—tell
people about Jesus.
To
be Christ’s disciple, you don’t need to fulfill elaborate requirements. What
you need to do is believe in Christ.
