Joshua
1:8
This Book of the Law
shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night,
that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you
will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

God has a plan to give
victory to His people. Definitely, God hasn’t planned to harm us, but to
prosper us so we will prosper and succeed. (Jer. 29:11)
There is a difference
between prosperity and success. Prosperity is what we achieve through
perseverance, hard work, and determination. We don’t get prosperity so easily,
but we have to pay the price. However, success is what we achieve because of
God’s involvement in us.
Today’s scripture tells
us that God will make our way prosperous, and we will have good success. In
fact, not all Christians live in prosperous way and have good success.
Therefore, God tells Joshua the rules:
1. We have to be strong
and of good courage (read Joshua 1:6-7). “Be strong and of good courage” is
mentioned two times, represents that this message is very important because we
often give up during difficult times and we might even say, “I cannot handle
it, I think I’m going to die!”
2.
We need to meditate on, declare, and do the Word of God. It means that we have
to stand firm in the Word no matter how hard the situation is. Lord Jesus says,
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire,
and it shall be done for you.”(John 15:7)
Joshua
lived in prosperous way and had good success in his life and he enjoyed living
in the Land of Canaan because he lived according to God’s will!
