Luke 11:34

The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.

The eye is the organ that allows us to see. Without eye, human cannot distinguish between light and darkness, and cannot know what is happening in the surroundings. An eye is the window of the world. Through eyes, we can see the world clearly. However, sometimes our eyes are controlled by mind.

Many children of God don’t use their eyes for glorifying the Lord but for fulfilling the lust of the flesh by seeing porn. This is one of many examples. When you fulfill your desire by looking at negative pictures, they will stay in your heart. It’s like when you have love at first sight—from the eyes to the heart.

Proverb 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

The Book of Proverbs says that the heart is the source of all life. Therefore, when you don’t guard your heart, your life will be polluted. Ask God to fill your mind with the Scriptures so that you can see positive things.

Every part of your body has a chance to commit sin, including the eyes. But the source is our mind. What does the Bible say about eyes that cause us to sin?

Matthew 18:9 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

The Bible clearly states that if our eye causes us to sin, it’s better to pluck it out and cast it from us. Hopefully, you can guard your eyes, the same way God keep us as the apple of His eye.

When you have the eyes of the Christ, you can see great things happen in your life.
