Living in the world and earning a lot of money won’t guarantee that your pocket is never broken-down. Can a purse be broken down? Of course it can. Why do so many people have a lot of money but are not happy and not able to enjoy it? They always have big expense. We called it devourer. Why are there devourers —the unexpected expense? For instances, being hospitalized for many times, having damaged car, etc?

God wants His people to not deceive Him. Would you deceive Him? Yes, you would, in tithes and offerings.

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:10)

The tithes belong to the Lord. Ten percent of your salary belongs to Him. Isn’t God good enough? He has let you posses the remaining 90 percent. God wants you to give Him tithe properly so there may be food in God’s house.

Could you remember the last time you bring tithe? Maybe you can say: “I don’t have enough money without giving tithe, so how my financial would be when I give tithe?” It’s our common sense. But don’t you know that God has a promise for those who give tithes and offerings?

"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," Says the LORD of hosts; "And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land," Says the LORD of hosts. (Malachi 3:11-12)

How amazing God’s promise is! By obeying Him, God promises that He will take care of your barns, and you will be called the happiest people.

Let us meditate on this scripture. May the Holy Spirit touch your heart to keep you believing in God and not rely on your own understanding.
