Romans 5:8
But God
demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.

Many times, great
feeling on unworthy of God’s love intimidates many people, and it makes them
feel far from God. But the fact is, God loves us not because we are worthy of
it, but because He chose to love us even when we were still sinners.
When Jesus prayed
in Gethsemane night before He was crucified, Judas Iscariot came with a great
multitude. The betrayer went up to Him and kissed Lord Jesus on His cheek. Then
whet did Jesus do? He said to Judas, “Friend, why have you come?” (Matthew
26:50). Yes, Jesus called him friend anyway.
Judas expected
Jesus to build His kingdom on earth and cast out Romans soldiers from Israel.
Judas pursued his own interests, and he was not interested in Jesus at all.
Even John wrote that his partner was a thief. Up to today, name Judas is
related to a man who betray the other person in seeking his own interests.
Even though Judas was greedy, ambitious, and a betrayer, Jesus did not stop loving him. He used a word Friend to call the disciple. God never makes terms for His love or reject anyone for failing reaching a standard. Simply to say, Jesus loves us for who we are.
