The pride of your heart has deceived you

Of proud, C.S Lewis wrote this: “Facing God, a man is confronting with the One with unsurpassed superiority. If you do not see God the way He is—and thus you see yourself absolutely not comparable to Him—then you absolutely do not know God. As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on thing and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down you cannot see something that is above you.”
And so did the Edomites. They were proud of their marvel and impact they have on the other nations. They boasted the great and firm fortress of their own. They boasted the wealth and prosperity. They counted on alliances with neighboring countries. “Who can let us down?” they thought to themselves.
They were negligent; they overlooked the presence of God. Though, God is obviously able to either give victory or bring humiliation. Therefore, He spoke to the Edomites that He would bring the prideful eagle down.
Pride is related to how we see God and whom or what we trust in. As we know that nothing or no one can stand against Him, should we be pride towards God and other people? –ARS
Pride always ends in a fall.
