In [bible]Judge9:8-15[/bible] states a parable that describes a situation when Abimelech was crowned to be a king in Shechem. It is narrated that trees in a forest were choosing the king. They came to the olive tree and asked him to be the king, but for various reasons, the Olive Tree rejected it. It also happened when they come to the Fig Tree and Vine, those two trees also rejected it. Finally, they came to the thornbush. The thornbush was willing to be the king. Howeve , when the thornbush became the king, then the whole forest get burnt.
We often hear how church or fellowship is difficult to find people who want to become the members of the Church Council or to be a board in some particular fields. It happens not because of the lack of some potential people, but because they refuse it for various reasons. Sometimes the reason is understandable, but sometimes not; they do not want to be bothered, do not want tired, or even feel useless or pointless. As a result, as in the parable above, "the thornbush" (read : people who are wortless) which later become "the king".
So, let's take part in ministry at the church or fellowship. Do not just be a spectator. It is true that we do not need to seek out positions in church ministry or agency, but when there is responsibility, do not possibly resist it. God awaits your masterpiece - AYA
