Phillipians 3:20-21
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Bible Reading for A Year:[bible]Psalm24[/bible];[bible]iiChr36:11-21[/bible];[bible]Jerem27[/bible]
In California, United States, many people moved from various places in the world to work in this city, but they still hold their citizenship. They are required to have a visitor registration card, so they can work there despite not being an American citizen.
The Bible repeatedly states that human life on this earth as a temporary life and refer to it as "foreigners" and “newcomers" on earth. This is not our permanent home, or our final destination. Therefore, we need to remind ourselves not to tied and focus on temporary things that exist in this life.
As believers, we should have a spiritual green card citizenship to constantly remind us our citizenship, the citizen of the kingdom of heaven. We also have to live, think, speak, and act as citizens of heaven. Our true identity is in eternity, and if we understand this, we will stop worrying about "having it all" on this earth.
But we often become equal with this world, we forget our true identity as citizens of the kingdom of heaven. We live and think like the world, our lifestyle even exactly the same, and without we realize, ourselves have become the enemy of God ([bible]James4:4[/bible]).
Let us ask God to enable us looking at this life as what He wants, like David who is praying, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalms 90:12)
Remember that our status in this world is only foreigner and our citizenship is the citizen of the kingdom of heaven.
