1 John 2:16

For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

Why is our mind vulnerable to tease? Because it is where the center of command takes place; it contains reasons why we do something like thinking, contemplating, dreaming, visualizing, and many more. The Bible said to us, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-4)

This is the same way how Eve was tempted, i.e. through the lust of the eyes: “Eve, take a look. Have you ever seen this kind of fruit?” Satan attacked Eve’s mind. The lust of the eyes talks about temptation of heart and mind.

Our mind can lead us to doing terrible sins. We can reach the past through our memory. We can reach the future through our imagination. Poorly, devil makes use of our mind’s weaknesses to suck us into sin. If so, what can we do to avoid this situation? Intimacy with God: rely on God and obey His commands.

Negative thinking can merely deny potency inside us.
