C.S Lewis describes the concept of eternity well at the last page of “the Chronicles of Narnia,” the seventh children fictional book, as following:

“For us this is the end of a story…but for those this is just the beginning of a real story. A whole of their lives on this earth…it is only a cover and a page of title: now they are eventually starting the first chapter of this great story, which has never been read by anyone on earth, which will always continue and each chapter is better than before.”

God has a goal for your life on earth, but in here it is not done yet. Its plan is much longer than some decades that you will undergo on this planet. It is more than just “one special opportunity in life;” God offers an opportunity that is beyond than our ages. The Bible says, “God’s plan remains forever, His plans is eternal.”

The only moment of most people think about eternity is when they are in a funeral and it is always shallow, sentiment, which is based on ignorance. We may feel that it is inappropriate to think about the death, but it is actually not healthy for us to live by denying the death and do not think about something that can not be hindered. Only stupid people who pass the life without any preparation face things that can not be hindered. We need to think about the eternity more.

It is always same with 9 months that we spent when we were in our mother’s womb. It is not the end. Our present lives are a preparation to the next future. If we have a relationship with God which has been reconciled by His begotten Son, Jesus Christ, we do not need to be afraid of dead since it is the door to the eternity. As the Bible saying that this earth is not our house. Therefore we are waiting to come home to our house on heaven.

Death is not the end, but it is a new beginning in eternity
