The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue to know the word that sustains the weary.

In addition to functioning as the sense of taste, tongue also has another function that is no less important in human life. What is it? It s function is to bless.
Why its function only to bless and not also to curse? Because God did not create our tongue to curse. If in the course of world civilization, many people who use to say bad things, it's all because of sin in us.
In Matthew 5:44, Jesus said to the people who listen to His Sermon on the Mount, 'love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you'. Prayer which the Lord Jesus meant in this verse is in not about a prayer that God will defend and avenge our pain, but a prayer of forgiveness and to release blessings. In other words, it means that He is forbidding us to expell curses of our tongue.
It is not easy to always speak positively, build, and so on. But remember we have the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to guide you in speaking day after day. Do not feel like a failure when one day you let slip or give a bad thing or even to judge. Get up soon and repent for it is His desire to see you live in the plan that He set for you from the beginning.
God created our tongues not to curse, but to bless.
