Genesis 3:11-12
And he said, Who gave you the knowledge that you were without clothing? Have you taken of the fruit of the tree which I said you were not to take? And the man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me the fruit of the tree and I took it.
Bible Reading for A Year:[bible]Psalm49[/bible];[bible]0Acts21[/bible];[bible]Deute8-9[/bible]
Ever since Adam blamed Eve and then Eve blamed the snake, since then humans began tangled in circles to blame and excuses. We do not want to take responsibility and admit mistakes for fear of the risk. Every time we meet problems, we always want to escape from responsibility by blaming other people or things outside ourselves. Unfortunately, it rarely works to solve the problem instead may worsen.
Accept responsibility for a mistake often leads to fears of its own. But if we are willing to deal with it, it is not as difficult as we might think.
The first step to take responsibility for the mistakes we make is to "seek out and understand what is wrong." If we are never aware of what is wrong, we will always feel right and refuse to take responsibility.
The second step, admit the mistake. Do not be such a villain who caught by the police, waiting for the interrogation then admitted the mistake. Take the initiative with humble and admit that we have made mistakes and ask for forgiveness.
And the last is rectifying the mistakes we have made. An apology is not enough; we also need to fix the errors that have occurred.
A Christian psychologist, Les Parrott, Ph.D., wrote in his book "3 Seconds", that it takes only 3 seconds to resist the urge to blame others. For it is when we are dealing with a problem, do not rush to find an excuse, but take a silence for 3 seconds and think back to what is our fault. Next, follow the three steps above. Believe me; this will further help resolve many difficulties that occur.
Do not always blame others whenever a problem occurs, it will not make us avoid the consequences.
