Psalm 23:2
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters
Bible Reading for a year: Psalm 144, John 21, Zechariah 9-10
God creates human being as a strong and excellence worker because God has set up human and all his descendants to rule over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moved upon the earth.
However, He knew our limit and how hard our burden and sins. He understands of our difficulties and how hard the struggling of life that we had to face and through in.
That’s why in Psalm 23, King David described God as a good shepherd precisely. As a shepherd, God knows there is time for lamb to get weary and exhausted. In that time, a good shepherd makes us to lie down in green pastures and leads us beside the still waters, when a lamb enjoys his Sabbath or takes a rest and stops a while from his every work.
Far before the day of human fell in sin and far before law was given to human, God has given a model and law to holy the seventh day as a breaking day or a stopping day for human being.
God is a good Lord who desires His creation not only to enjoy how happy His creation if we work hard and successes but also He desires us to be blessed when we take a rest and to holy Sabbath.
As what Jesus saying that Sabbath is for human, it means that Sabbath is for human goodness and not to take them in troubles.
