1:29
For to you it has been granted
on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His
sake

In 1965, Pater Stanislaw
Ograbek SVD, a Polish missionary, was willing to dedicate his life for 50 years
on the island of Flores and Kalimantan. His struggle to become a missionary was
not easy. One of the obstacles he faced was the language. The first time he
arrived in Flores, Pater greeted the residents, but did not get a response from
them. However, that did not make Pater gave up to preach the gospel.
Pater became not only a
religious missionary but also a volunteer for community development in various
fields. For what he had done, he received an award from the Governor of East
Nusa Tenggara (NTT), that is golden ring.
What Pater has done is awesome,
because the most beautiful gift is not pure gold, but time. If there is anyone
who gives his or her time for you, it means he/she has given his life time that
cannot be taken back.
Obstacles are inevitable, but Pater
still struggled to prove that the vision and mission when he was sent as a
missionary have been fused in his soul. Pater is one example of those who really
fulfill the "Great Commission" of Jesus Christ.
“Go therefore and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”
(Matthew 28:19-20).
May what Pater has done can be
a driving force for you to go preaching the gospel.
Remember
that God provides a great reward to anyone who does His Word.
