Ephesians 4:31-32
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Joyce had a friend who had been regarded as a sibling. Her name was Aurel. Now they were studying at one of the best universities in town. In fact they were in the same faculty. To Joyce, Aurel was a loving friend even though sometimes, things did not always go smoothly. Many times they were irritated with each other, but one of them always gave in to dampen the spirit.
One day, their lecture gave them task to create ideas for writing. At that moment, Aurel did not have any idea for writing, and she was very confused. So Aurel asked Joice about her idea. The next day, in class, the lecture asked Aurel of her idea for writing. Aurel replied that she used Joice’s idea.
Joice was surprised and shocked. Her brilliant idea turned out to be copied by her very best friend. However, Joice remembered about forgiveness. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25)
Joice thought that if she didn’t forgive Aurel, God would not forgive her either. Finally, Aurel apologized Joice, and Joice forgave Aurel.
This simple story has always been real in our life. When other hurt you, what would you do? Hate them or forgive them? You humanly hate them, but ask God the spirit of forgiving.
What Joice has done is like heaping coals of fire on Aurel’s head. Proverbs 25:21-22 says, “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the LORD will reward you.”
To hate is to block God’s blessing.
