Jude 1:20
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit

Jude, the brother of James, shared one of his thoughts about the end of the day and the degradation that happens during it. Jude talked a lot about worldly passions and desires which control those who live without the Holy Spirit.
What are the works of the flesh? [bible]galat5:19-21[/bible] explained what they are. There are many forms and kinds, but one thing is for sure, all of them do not bring goodness to us, and we even cannot inherit the kingdom of God due to them.
However, even though we already know they are sins, we sometimes compromise. “God, I want to but I can’t.” Or, maybe we tell ourselves that those things are okay because other people do them as well, and such things are natural to human beings. This is the world we live in today.
We are accustomed to hearing news about celebrities that become pregnant out of wedlock. We are accustomed to watching people smoking. We excuse anyone who falls into drugs because his family is broken. We might understand and ignore when evil occurs in our surroundings. Everything is so wicked, yet somehow we are not touched anymore and do not try to help those in need, nor gently advise them.
We need to “sharpen” our spiritual life. We need to get closer to the love of God and seek His grace for us. One device that can be used to “sharpen” us is devotional time. Build ourselves so that we are worthy. The offers from the world tantalize us, indeed, and what God has prepared for us seems so boring and too godly. But in the end, we will see that things from God are great, not only in our present life, but also in the future.
The work of the flesh is a destroyer, like a bomb that destroys. In the other hand, there is no something too spiritual that will make us look weird. In every behavior that was built on the foundation of our faith to God, we will get many benefits.
