Collosian 4:2

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving

Bible Reading for A Year:[bible]Psalm26[/bible];[bible]Matth26[/bible];[bible]Exodu1-2[/bible]

Prayer is not just about asking something to God. Prayer should cover our confession to sins and gratitude to God for His presence and what He has done to us.

However, prayer is supposed to have an extra element; the gratitude. Bible continuosly teaches us to be grateful. Psalmist says, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever” ([bible]Psalm107:1[/bible]).  Before Jesus gave the loaves to His disciples, He was “grateful” ([bible]Matth15:36[/bible]).  Before Jesus was crucified, He said gratitude before His disciples in the Last Supper ([bible]0Luke22:17,19[/bible]).

It is easy to say gratitude when God blesses us with good things. However, we should “Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. ([bible]iChro5:18[/bible]).

Gratitude washes away the spirit of pride. Let this element be the part of your daily prayer.

Prayer of gratitude is one thing He desires every day.
