When Gabriel told Maria that she would birth the Son of God, the angel says, “And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible (Luke 1:36-37).
Other people in the Bible may get doubt God’s promise instead of Maria. She answers, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.” (Verse 38)
Then Maria came to visit Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost (Verse 41). Elizabeth says, “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.” (Verse 45)
It also happens to Abraham. God promised him that his descendants would have been multiplied as the stars of heaven although he was really old and did not have any child. And in Romans 4:3 written, “For what said the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.”
Abraham eventually had a child named Isaac, the son of covenant. By his lineage, he would have doubled descendants and through him, every nation on earth will be blessed.
At that time, Maria got what His promise unto her life, a son. It only happens because she believes in God’s promise and through her; every nation on earth will be blessed.
We do not need to fight or try in order to be received by God as He is not interested with what we do. The most important for Him is will you trust Him or not. As what Elisabeth saying, “And blessed is whom that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told him/her from the Lord.” God bless you.
