John 16:33

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

Bible Reading for A Year:[bible]Psalm56[/bible];[bible]0Mark6[/bible];[bible]Isaia65-66[/bible]

Do you know about Murphy's Law? Although some of you who have never read or heard about this basic principle from anyone, but I am sure you must have experienced it: "If a thing has the potential for problems, it certainly would be problematic."

Murphy's law is similar to what Jesus taught to His disciples when He said to them, "In the world ye shall have tribulation" ([bible]0John16:33 [/bible]. In other words, sooner or later we will have difficult times. It is not the beginning of God's plan for our lives, but when a first man, Adam, succumbed to Satan's temptation in Eden, everything on earth fell into the grip of sin. Consequently, since it happened, there was only chaos and confusion.

We can feel any difficulties of life in real indeed. We often fail to have peace. Interestingly, when Jesus warned His followers about the difficulty, in that moment, He promised peace. He even said to them, "Be strong. I have overcome the world". A word of ‘overcome’ referred to an event that have a lasting impact in the past. Jesus has not only overcome the world who fall into sin through His death and resurrection, but he also continued to provide victory, no matther how difficult it is.

Therefore, despite the difficulty come upon us in this world, the good news is we can rely on Jesus who gives us peace in troubled times - JMS

In difficulties, peace can be found in Jesus.
