Ecclesiastes 7:10

Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions.

Bible Reading for A Year:[bible]Ezeki12-14[/bible];[bible]Genes14:10-22[/bible];[bible]0Acts21-27[/bible]

Our lives look like a spinning wheel which is always stepping forward. The past can not be repeated. However, we tend to compare situation which always happens every time. For example, as I remember, in 1990’s, sugar costs about IDR 900/kg. For now on, its cost is about ten times as much. Then it’s unsurprising when there is someone hoping to get back to the past, when its cost is cheaper, there has still simply thought, and life demands which trigger stress not as high as this time.

This situation is also experienced by Israel when Moses led them out of Egypt. There was Red Sea ahead and Pharaoh’s chariots chased after them at the back. In this situation, Israel told Moses, “It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” (Verse 12) they want to get back. In fact, God has released them to experience more beautiful things ahead. Their exodus from Egypt is also used by God to guide Israel stepping closer to His promise fulfillment, getting into the promise land. However, Israel had lulled the convenience as slaves in Egypt.

How about us? Do we also think as Israel which chose to stay at past for the comfort zone? God guides Israel to come out of Egypt for teaching them something precious. He also guides us stepping forward every day and to experience His extraordinary power. Do not be wry and dismayed, for despite increasing life challenges, then the inclusion of His power is also increasing.

Enjoy the life that He gives everyday and stepping forward with God.
