Deuteronomy 8:6-7
Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills.
Bible Reading for a year:[bible]Psalm93[/bible];[bible]Psalm115[/bible]
Are you ready to enter the New Year? Yes, the New Year has been in a count of hours or even minutes. Sure everyone wished all the best in 2013. Do you also expect the same? Let us learn from what Moses told the Israel when they are about to enter the Promised Land.
When the nation of Israel was about to enter the land of Canaan, Moses reminded the nation that they were confronted with a blessing and a curse. Blessing if they obey the commandments of God and the curse if they do not obey the commandments of the Lord and depart from the path of truth.
The statements above are not applied to the nation of Israel, but for us as well. The year of 2013 can be imagined as the Promised Land, the year in which we can enjoy all the promises of God fulfilled in our lives. But to experience it, God asks us to live in obedience to His word.
In Deuteronomy 8 there are some guidelines that are important to note and apply later in the New Year. First, do not forget God by neglecting His commandments ([bible]Deutr8:11[/ bible]), Second, we do not be arrogant when God bestows blessings and fulfills His promises in our lives ([bible]Deutr8:14[/bible]), and the last , we always remember that all things that God has given to all of us, not because we deserve it but everything is just by His grace itself.
Close the year of 2012 by thanksgiving and enter the year of 2013 by your full faith.
