In a Christmas theater, beside Mary, the baby Jesus in the manger, the wise men, and animals, would seem also Yusuf, the man who became known as the father of Jesus. After the birth of Jesus, the name of Joseph is no longer frequently cited by the author of the Gospel. Its presence in the Gospels as if only to affirm that Jesus was right to pass on the throne of David.
However that does not mean the role of Joseph is not important in human rescue mission carried out by Jesus Christ. It could even be said to exist is very important and strategic. If Joseph did not want to obey the Lord's command conveyed to him in a dream to take Mary as his wife, then it is seen from the human perspective it would endanger the mission of Jesus.
Thankfully Joseph obeyed God's command even though it was very risky. The pperceptions of people at the time if they knewew that Mary was pregnant before marriage, would make Joseph’s figure bad and perpetrators of gross violations of Jewish law. However Joseph still obeyed to Him , moreover he was willing to sacrifice his reputation to take part in the great divine mission.
Today let us learn from Joseph with his exemplary obedience. Do not look at the big or small what we do, but whatever it is, we do our role with full faith and confidence. Be obey to the God’s willing even the risk is very large.
Without obedience we cannot fulfill the will of God. Choose to obey then you will be in the center of God's will.
