Promoting the Passion to Serve in Cilacap

Monday, July 3rd 2017 was a very special day for the local church communities in Cilacap and the surrounding areas. The reason being, a meeting between God’s servants was held at the date to socialize Nobar Komsel Solusi program by CBN Indonesia, which was part of a discipleship program from CBN. Choosing GBI Shalom Cilacap church as the venue, the event was attended by participants hailing from 16 interdenomination of churches. Praise the Lord, the participants of the events were enthusiastic with the program, despite having to travel quite a long distance to reach the venue. An interesting story came from a participant who said that he/she has traveled for two hours on motorbike because she/he is very excited about the event.
Apart from doing presentation for the local church communities in Cilacap, CBN Indonesia team also got the opportunity to hold a Nobar Komsel (Cell group Watch-Together activity) session in Pasir Putih Nusa Kambangan prison. About 20 participants attended the session, mostly convicts of drug cases. All of them confessed that they felt greatly blessed after hearing a testimony from Yerri Pattinasarani, who was released from the sins of drug addiction. The positive response of the participants is summarized in the following statement from one participant of the session:
“This kind of session, where we watch a video together before discussing the material, is something that we have never done before. We are eager to hold another session in the future on our own using the distributed material and module from Nobar Komsel Solusi,” said the worship coordinator in the prison, Bapak Aeng. He is a drug convict with drug abuse case like Yerri who has lived in prison for 14 years. He told us, “every man will die, now or tomorrow for me is the same. I am prepared to accept my own execution. I believe even if I die, Jesus has already saved me,” said Bapak Aeng who is also in death row. After participating in the session, Bapak Aeng admitted that his faith has grown even stronger.
Until this day, the discipleship module for Nobar Komsel Solusi continues to be used to bless many church communities.
