and if children, then
heirs––heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him ,
that we may also be glorified together.

As you have decided to follow
Christ and become His child, you are an heir of God. What are things you can
inherit? It is countless. There are so many promises for you. You have to
believe that the promises will be fulfilled in your life. These are some of
God’s promises for you:
God
promises to give you eternal life.
1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that He has promised
us––eternal life.
God
promises to forgive you.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
God
promises to give you the Holy Spirit.
Luke 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to
give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give
the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
God
promises to give you wisdom.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of
God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to
him.
Many people don’t know that
when they become children of God, they will inherit so many promises. You are
God’s heir. Could an heir be illegal? Yes, when you decide to not be child of
God anymore—you worship other gods. But when you become the child of God, you
have to do an obligation. What is it?
1 Peter 1:15-16 but as He who called you is holy, you also be
holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am
holy."
God is holy, and to be His
children, we must be holy as well. This is the obligation. Do your own part, and
He will do His unseen part. Do it with joy, and God will do great things and
His promises will be fulfilled in your life.
When
you are chosen to be the child of God, you become the citizen of heaven at the
very time.
