Addressing Parenting Challenges for New Parents Through The Parenting Project

The Parenting Project

Your support has enabled The Parenting Project discipleship module to train and equip around 5,000 parents from over 1,400 churches across Indonesia. As we enter 2025, The Parenting Project continues to make a significant impact in various regions, one of which has been experienced by Mr. Birnof, a father of two from Makalelon, Minahasa, North Sulawesi.

Before learning from The Parenting Project, being a father was a major challenge for Mr. Birnof. Having lost his father at a young age made him lack a role model in parenting. As a result, he often struggled with his active eldest child, Briel (3 years old), who displayed aggressive behavior towards his friends. To stop Briel’s actions, he would usually yell or hit him.

However, after attending The Parenting Project discipleship group with his wife, Mr. Birnof’s perspective on parenting changed dramatically. From the module “Child’s Emotional Tank,” he learned the importance of controlling his heart and mind when dealing with his child. He shared, “Praise God! The Parenting Project is great for me to learn how to be a good father which I never got in life.”

Now, Mr. Birnof has applied what he has learned in his parenting, both in attitude and action. This change has had a positive impact on Briel, who is now more willing to listen to parental advice and has become calmer.
