Working Together to Provide Adequate Childcare Facilities in CBN Holistic Ecosystems
Holistic Disciple Making Ecosystem
The continued support of CBN Partners has enabled us to develop 75 Holistic Discipleship Ecosystems for children (HDME) in Indonesia to date. This program is carried out in collaboration with local churches through discipleship ministries for children aged 3-14 years and their parents. In addition, we provide the humanitarian support that children, families, and the surrounding communities need.
Together with you, CBN continues to support local churches in realizing these holistic ecosystems through:
- The development and training in the use of the Super5 Early Childhood Education (ECE), School of Life, Superbook, and The Parenting Project curriculum.
- Improved teacher competency through regular training.
- Training for parents to create physically and spiritually healthy families.
- Humanitarian support for children and their families through many sectors, such as public health, improving child nutrition, economic empowerment, and providing access to clean water.
Support That Makes an Impact on Child Discipleship
Praise God! Praise God! In October 2024, CBN, through the generosity of partners, supported the renovation of classrooms for four Super5 Early Childhood Education Centers within the Holistic Discipleship Ecosystem. These ECE include:
- Super5 Early Childhood Education Center of True Hope, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra
- Super5 Early Childhood Education Center of Agape Creative Children, Ungaran, Central Java
- Super5 Early Childhood Education Center of Betel Tumu, Oinlasi Village, East Middle South Regency, NTT
- Super5 Early Childhood Education Center of Hiligeo Mazingo, Umbubalodano Village, Sitolu Ori District, Nias Islands
This renovation project began since mid-October 2024, started with the repair of the roof at ECE Super5 Agape Creative Children in Ungaran. The school's decade-old roof had sagged and needed fixing. This classroom renovation will be completed on November 4, 2024. Next, renovations will be carried out at the other three Super5 Early Childhood Education Centers, with a target completion date in mid-November 2024.
A green Christmas tree was intentionally used as a roof support column for the ECE Agape Creative Children classroom in Ungaran, which received renovation assistance.
We have also supported the families of children in need within this holistic ecosystem by providing agricultural capital assistance to five families in the holistic discipleship ecosystem of AFY Jemaat Hilihoya in Hilifaosi Village, Bawolato, Nias and conducting socialization and training for micro-enterprise capital assistance to two families in the holistic discipleship ecosystem of Tanah Merah, North Jakarta, through Obor Berkat Indonesia in October 2024. With this support, child discipleship through the local church can be more effective and have a significant holistic impact on the children, their families, and the church community.
Impact of CBN's Holistic Discipleship
One of the tangible impacts of this discipleship ecosystem is experienced by Agung, a 10-year-old participant of Superbook Sunday School and School of Life within the holistic discipleship ecosystem of BNKP Jemaat Bawolato, Nias. Before undergoing the discipleship process, Agung found it difficult to forgive others, including a friend who had teased him. He harbored resentment and intended to seek revenge. However, after participating in discipleship and learning through the 'I Love Peace' material at School of Life, Agung realized that seeking revenge would only harm himself. Moved by this lesson, Agung eventually forgave his friend, and now they are close again, just like before.
