Superbook Gratitude Jar, Teaching These 3 Children to Learn the Meaning of Gratitude

Superbook

Every child matters! This is why Superbook is here in Indonesia. Our mission is to raise up a generation of children who love God, love His Word, and have a missionary spirit for God.

Thank you CBN Partners, your support allows us to reach children in creative ways through Superbook. This month, we would like to share the results of one of our activities, the Gratitude Jar challenge, an online activity that encourages children to live out Superbook's lesson of “gratitude” in a simple way.

In this challenge, children are invited to write down the things they are grateful for every day and put them in a jar. Through this challenge, they can learn to always be grateful for every blessing they receive, whether big or small. Here, we share three inspiring testimonies from parents whose children participated in this challenge.

Mrs. Oktavia, parent of Celin (8 years old), was inspired to have her daughter participate in the Gratitude Jar Challenge found by Superbook Indonesia's Instagram. Before this challenge, Celin had a hard time answering about what she could be grateful for in life.

However, after participating in the challenge, Celin became accustomed to filling her gratitude jar. “Every morning when she wakes up and sometimes after school, Celin likes to write gratitude. Celin started to be grateful for many small things that happen in her life,” she said.

Mrs. Grace invited her son, Kendru (8 years old), to join the Gratitude Jar challenge. Praise God, a significant change happened! Every night, Kendru eagerly reminded his mom to fill his gratitude jar. “Mom, I haven't filled my gratitude jar yet.”

Now, Kendru loves God even more, regularly attended church, and always brought his Bible to Sunday School. “I am very grateful to see the changes in Kendru, not only learning to be grateful but also starting to be more aware and willing to get closer to God,” said Mrs. Grace.

Mrs. Ida, the mother of Gusti (9 years old), found the Gratitude Jar Challenge as an opportunity to teach her daughter about gratitude. Since joining the Gratitude Jar Challenge, Mrs. Ida and Gusti have made it a habit to fill out a list of things they are grateful for every day. This habit eventually taught Gusti about the meaning of gratitude. Mrs. Ida noticed a significant change that Gusti started to appreciate the simple things in his life.

“My daughter, Gusti, is more grateful and values what she has now. Even if she wants something that she can't have yet, Gusti is more patient. She always prays to God that one-day God will bless her, and she will be able to have the things she desires,” explained Mrs. Ida.

We believe every CBN Partner is blessed through these testimonies. If you long to see God used Superbook make a real difference for children across Indonesia, please join us.
