Evangelical Christian Church in Timor (GMIT) Ekklesia AirKom, located in Naibonat Village, East Kupang, has made a significant impact on its community, serving hundreds of children through Superbook children’s discipleship, School of Life Learning Center, Super5 Early Childhood Education, and The Parenting Project. This initiative began with Superbook Sunday School in 2019, which continues to grow today. In 2022, Ekklesia Airkom adopted the Super5 curriculum for its early childhood center, and the discipleship became even more holistic with the presence of CBN’s School of Life Learning Center, which equips children in education and character development.
As of August 2024, this community has served:

Holistic Discipleship Impact
Before CBN entered this area, delays in reading, writing, and arithmetic were common challenges faced by children in the Ekklesia Airkom community. This was due to a lack of support from parents who were often too busy working as farm laborers. Health-wise, children also struggled with malnutrition because their parents' income was insufficient to provide nutritious meals.
However, after CBN Indonesia introduced the School of Life Learning Center at this church, significant changes began to take place. “Children who previously struggled with reading are now showing remarkable progress. This discipleship program has truly transformed their lives,” said Rev. Elisabeth Riwu, Pastor of GMIT Ekklesia Airkom.
The church also encourages parents to actively support their children's development by holding regular meetings every three months. The results are visible in many children, including Queen Ballo (10 years old). After her parents separated, Queen lost her enthusiasm for learning. However, thanks to encouragement from her mother and the tutors at the School of Life, Queen slowly regained her spirit. Now, Queen is very active in discipleship activities at the church. The child who once lost hope now dreams of becoming a pastor when she grows up.
Now, Queen Ballo has been actively participating in discipleship at church
Support Discipleship in This Community
Ekklesia Airkom community still needs much support to:
>> Reach more children through Super5 Early Childhood Education, School of Life Learning Center, and Superbook Sunday School.
>> Equip and provide salary subsidies for their educators.
>> Improve the well-being of children and families through nutritious breakfasts and clean water infrastructure development.
Let’s work together to build a brighter future for the children in the Airkom community!
