Three Years Since This ECCE Faithfully Discipled Children Through Super5

Super5

Praise God! CBN, through Super5 child discipleship, has been presented to bless Partner churches for the past three years. Nias Island became part of the pioneering history of Super5 in 2021 and has faithfully continued to disciple early childhood until today.

Until this third year, we are grateful that more than 100 Super5 Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) have been actively running on Nias island. Since year one, we've witnessed how the Super5 curriculum helps teachers and children experience transformation. Through the media-based teaching system, teachers have now become accustomed to using the Learning Management System (LMS) and media-based teaching materials. Lesson topics supported by visual media also make children's interest in learning continue to increase.

In this October, we shared a portrait of the pioneering journey passed by one of the ECCE in collaboration with Super5, namely PAUD SPS Lasara Bahili, Gunungsitoli, Nias. The presence of Super5 became the pioneer of the establishment of PAUD SPS Lasara Bahili. In the first batch, this PAUD has 18 students with 4 teachers. Challenges such as during the pandemic had hampered face-to-face learning activities and even teachers had to deal with parents who demanded that their children could immediately experience development in terms of literacy.

The teacher's patience in giving an approach to parents paid off! During the pandemic, teachers and parents have managed to work together in teaching children at home. The Super5 material used also had a big impact academically. Children can explore and experiment through the topic of lessons about recognizing objects around them.

Here is one of the stories of the discipleship of Super5 children from ECCE SPS Lasara Bahili, Nias.

In this third batch, ECCE SPS Lasara Bahili Nias has 10 students. One of them is named Christiani, or familiarly called Kristin. This 5-year-old child is very different from other girls. The habit of playing wars at home with her two older brothers made Kristin a rude girl, who likes to hit, kick and slam the boys in her class. Kristin's actions often made her friends cry and complain to the teacher.

Thanks to the teacher's approach and learning through the Super5 material 'I Love My Neighbor', Kristin learned God's word delivered from Matthew 22:39 which is 'to love one's neighbor as oneself'. A week later, Kristin's changes began to show. She begins to hang out with female friends and increasingly maintains an attitude towards her male friends. Spiritually, Kristin also showed significant changes such as always being eager to mention Bible verses and her calm attitude when praying.

Thank you CBN Partners, in every contribution you make there is hope sown for the future of the child's generation. Let us continue to sow together to work on the Great Commission through discipleship.
