CBN Indonesia is here to equip young people in local churches through a media training entitled 'Vocational Training Citizen Journalism'. As a media ministry-based foundation, CBN Indonesia recognizes the importance of the role of the media in carrying out services in local churches. Therefore, in 2023, CBN will focus on equipping young people from local churches with media knowledge. So that these skills can later be applied to improve their skills in advancing and developing media services in the church while also equipping young people so that they can use these skills as a source of income.
In early 2023, Vocational Training Citizen Journalism has been held in Nias and Kupang. The participants are trained in various basic knowledge to become a Content Creator.
Some of the materials shared include:
1. Basic knowledge of citizen journalists
2. Introduction to shooting tools and techniques (theory & practice)
3. Interview techniques & on cam (theory & practice)
4. Video editing techniques with smartphones (theory & practice)
5. How to create a script/narrative coverage (theory & practice)
6. How to upload videos to Youtube media and to google drive (practice)
7. Project practices for making coverage videos
Among the many participants who participated in this training, Yerry Wahu had an interesting story. This man from Kupang, who works as a priest, is already old. But he has a high desire to learn. He also took the practical session of making videos seriously. A happy look radiated from his face when he managed to create one video content. This ability fostered his confidence that age was not a barrier to constantly learning new things.
Thank you CBN Partners. Through your support, we can equip local churches according to their needs. We will continue to support their needs. Join us to serve them.
